Few may know that the inaugural winners of the Surrey Hills Senior League were indeed Farleigh in 2016. I say few because computerised records were not made in the ‘dim and distant past’. Sadly, since then we have not troubled the engravers until this year.

I am very pleased that there is no doubting the record of the 2022 Champions, with a never-before achieved 8 wins and no losses. Something by pure coincidence that was also achieved by the men’s section at Farleigh. We are currently in discussions with them to have a “grudge” match to see who has overall bragging rights.

We now join Surrey Downs as two-time winners and will seek to emulate their record by hopefully winning back-to-back Championships next year. The team has had a magnificent season of success and when changes have been made, there has been no noticeable drop off in performance.

So, to the 19 players used this season, well played and thank you and let’s look forward to another successful year in 2023.
